Welcome to the Canon Broadcast newsletter

Hello and welcome to the latest issue of the Canon Broadcast Newsletter. To find out about our very latest products and innovations along with reports from Canon users, just click on the links here.  2012 is proving to be a really exciting year for us. As ever, we are listening to the market and responding to our customers’ needs.   We’ve already launched 2 field lenses, an ENG lens, a pan-tilt system and new cinema lenses and had a successful NAB (details of all in this newsletter).  and now there are two major sports events almost on top of us.

Value the major driver

I believe value is yet again is proving to be the major influence in today’s lens and camera market. For instance, the success of the C300 camera is down to an extremely high picture quality for a very affordable price. We have a user report on the “extremely affordable” KJ20x8.2B lens and, also offering exceptional value, details of our new Pan and Tilt camera plus two new DIGISUPER lenses.

The users’ view and working with our customers

As part of a documentary project for NASA, Canon Broadcast UK lent Canon lenses to film short education videos (SEVs) at altitude in the Central Andes. The joint USA-UK team did not want to give them back. Max Hodgetts, Lighting cameraman, who put the Canon KJ20x8 budget HD lens through its paces, was, I’m pleased to say, also quite impressed!

We have always listened and reacted to customer needs and tried to involve them when developing new ideas. We believe empowering our customers is part of the process in creating leading edge products and we are always happy to work closely with you. If you would like to test one of our products on a special project or you have any ideas regarding an existing product please feel free to contact us at CEL-broadcast@canon-europe.com

Our ever-growing portfolio

I’ve included details of the products we’ve launched so far this year with this newsletter. They are the HJ17ex6.2B, offering unrivalled wide angle performance from a standard lens to the ENG market. As I’ve already mentioned, there’s great value with the new compact Canon XU80 pan and tilt unit and two new field lenses, the DIGISUPER 80 & 76. For cinematographers, there are details of the four new digital zoom lenses to join our EF Cinema Lens range.

New address – business as usual

It’s made no difference to looking after you, our customers, but in case you didn’t know, some of us moved from Amstelveen (NL) to London (UK) last July.  If you need to contact us, the address is: Canon Broadcast Products Divison, Canon Europe, 3 The Square, Stockley Park, Uxbridge, Middlesex, UB11 1ET.
